Sierra Cybernetics, Inc. was founded in 1981, to provide systems and software engineering support to the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps. Subsequently, we have expanded into providing a full range of information technology services for state and local government agencies and private industry.

Throughout our history, Sierra has provided quality engineering support to over 14 separate DoD agencies and over 32 different programs. Systems developed by Sierra or for which Sierra has had a significant development role are currently deployed in Army, Marine Corps and Navy commands, providing leading - edge technology for command and control and mission support. These systems have been used effectively in military operations in the Middle East, Africa, and the Caribbean. Over 95% of our current defense work stems from previous customers.

In 1991, Sierra began transitioning our systems analysis and software development expertise into commercial and state/local government markets. We have focused on information systems and technology development and consulting, leading to long term business analysis and information management contracts.

With the acquisition of Creative Synergy, Inc. in 1995, Sierra has emerged as a preeminent integrator of client/server based document imaging systems for hospitals and other healthcare providers, state and local government agencies and commercial enterprises, specializing in entertainment, engineering services, and financial applications. Sierra has established business relationships with several leading manufacturers of document image management software. We provide tailored, turn-key systems along with a full range of system maintenance and training support.

Sierra presents a broad experience base in leading edge technology. Our engineering staff has current experience in networked systems, communications, and information processing systems and is currently developing under Windows95/NT, and UNIX using X Windows and Motif tool kit extensions. We have developed over 3,000,000 lines of code in C, C++, Visual BASIC, Fortran, PowerBuilder, and Ada using Oracle, Sybase, Ingress, Microsoft SQL Server, ODBC, and other databases.

Sierra has on-going development efforts involving TCP/IP, X.25 and GOSIP protocols and has a combined experience base of over 50 years in the design of client/server based systems. Current analysis efforts are underway on workflow and business process analysis, secure database systems, and in office automation upgrades specializing in client/server solutions for our local government and commercial clients.

Sierra's in-house facilities utilize Pentium PCs, Macintosh, SUN, HP, and VAX computers interconnected with PCs using NT and Novell servers. Within its corporate headquarters, Sierra also maintains a fully integrated document imaging system which is available to demonstrate document imaging products.

With years of experience in the application of systems engineering and software engineering methodologies, including structured, spiral, and object oriented development techniques and Computer Aided Systems Engineering (CASE) practices, Sierra is capable of performing a full range of systems engineering and software development in support of its clients.
