PlanFinder Features
![]()

The PlanFinder software is a search Engine developed for the the Architecture Industry to allow plans that have been scanned into a database to be located via a search engine. The search engine currently has parameters such as floor plan square footage, floor plan width, floor plan depth, number of stories, number of bedrooms, garage configuration, location of Master bedroom and others. Each of the parameters allows the number of plans to be narrowed by subsequently selecting the parameters above. Ranges can also be set up using the Edit tool so that searches encompass floor plan ranges or length ranges.
The
edit screen allows data to be
associated with the scanned floor plan. Additional data can be added to the
diagram so that each diagram has a standard set of data that can be used as the
search items, thus the data on the scanned diagram does not have to be used for
the searches. After
data is input on the screen it is saved to the database and the drawing and data
are merged.
There is also a screen that allows the administrator to change the parameters in the drop down boxes and manage the database.
The PlanFinder software currently works on a system that has the database on a Windows 2000 Workstation and all the workstations that need to obtain the data are Windows 98 or Windows 2000 workstations. For larger databases the system can be hosted on a server with MSSQL as the database engine without a great deal of changes to the software. The format can also be changed to suit the customer.
