Web-Activated Request for Permits System for South Coast Air Quality Management District |
Summary of Work Performed:
Sierra has recently been awarded an additional task under its RACER contract with
SCAQMD to implement a computer system to enable facilities to submit permit
applications electronically via the Internet. The system will also be able to access
status information regarding their electronic applications processing procedure.
The system will provide application forms for four of the most common equipment
types and will calculate fees and give the applicant a transaction number for
each application.
In order to provide this service, Sierra will develop the Web-Actuated Request for
Permits (WARP) system using the Alpha platform, OSF3 Unix OS, Ingres Database and
Netscape Commerce Server. In addition, software will be developed to allow for
electronic data capture on the Districts World Wide Web Server.
Sierra will provide interface from the existing District Web Home Page to this
system via hyperlink. Interfaces will be provided between the WEB system and
SCAQMDs Global, Finance, Permits, Engineering Tracking System, New Source Review,
and Computer Automated Permit Processing System hosted on the districts Ingres
Database.
The application will contain a hypertext-enabled on-line help facility, and a
checklist help sheet will be provided at each stage of the permit process to
notify the user what information will be required for the next portion of the
application.
